Kristy Dudley: Mom, Coach, and Recovered Addict
The Avoiding Average Podcast has quickly become one of my favorite passion projects and time investments. I’ve had the opportunity to interview so many interesting people and learn more about them and what they do. Recently, I had the absolute pleasure and honor to interview my friend, Kristy Dudley, on the podcast where she for the first time publicly shares her past and the transformation she’s been through.
Kristy and I met via Reddit when I saw her post on r/lifecoaching about looking for an accountability partner. I figured I could use the accountability too so I took a look at her profile and saw she was interested in astrology - my type of person for sure! So I responded and we met via Zoom and I instantly loved her energy! She is so vibrant and full of life, you would never guess her background. She later revealed to me more about her story and that she wanted to eventually share it with the world, so I invited her to do that on my podcast.
Most people hide away their dark and dirty past, but Kristy bravely shares about her life as a functioning heroin addict while she raised her kids through a tumultuous and abusive marriage and how she transformed her dogmatic Christian upbringing into one of radical self-love and empowerment. You would have never guessed by her personality that she had ever cowered before anyone, and she inspires me to live life with love and courage. I encourage anyone who is struggling with feeling stuck in place of fear and disempowerment to listen to Kristy’s story.
The episode is now live on Spotify, Amazon Music, and Youtube, but you can watch it below!
If you enjoy the podcast, I’d love it if you could subscribe, like, or comment on your favorite platform and tell me what you enjoyed! Also, if you feel someone else would enjoy listening, please share as well! My goal with the podcast is to share the unique journeys of others as they pave their own path in life.
